Pompomitus

Found myself a couple of bags of pompoms in the local discount store near me.

In a moment of insomnia decided to make myself an outfit for nye.

Then 2 hours later….

Think this might be the onset of pompomitis, and very well may spread to other items in my wardrobe. Below Niki Minaj,  Piers Atkinson and Ashish display symptoms of the disease in its accutest form…

Dream Collection: Alexis Mabille Autumn ’11

Tooooooootally loving this collection. My yellow tights have long been a firm wardrobe fixture but now i am also thinking of investing in a white tutu to shove on my shoulders…..

A Pictoral Guide to East London

This gorgeous collaboration between Herb Lester and Telegramme has got me a tad homesick. I know its short notice but if anyone hasn’t decided on my xmas prezzie yet……well just sayin!

Sarah Illenberger – Paper Craze 2

Whilst living in Berlin for a bit i have discovered this gem of a lady. I spotted Sarah Illunberger‘s work on a great blog called Still In Berlin. She’s done windows for Hemes, been on the cover of many a book and magazine and has published a book of her own work which is now one of my most prized possestions. Her are some of my fave  images of her work:

Paper Craze

Whilst searching for paper craft inspiration for a new project I’m working on i found these beauts…

These are by a guy called Jeremy Kool (real name?) but on a second glance I have a disappointing feeling that they are graphics and not 3D obects…hmm any one want to correct me feel free! They’re still pretty Kool though (I’m sorry!)

FRANKLIN TILL’S SENSORY SENSATIONS

Loving up Fred Butler‘s pics from the Secret Sensory Suppers, part of the London Design Festival. Curated by Franklin Till, and hosted by Bompas &Parr, Caroline Hobkinson and Silent Studios the dinners involved all kinds of  wonders such as floating bread attached to helium balloons, string quartets, ice sculpture, films and masked waiters. That’s my kind of yummy!

Cavali World

For the past two weeks I’ve been assisting the wonderfully talented Phoebe Lewis on the event design for Roberto Cavali’s Fashion Week After Party. It began with the most epic scouring of prop houses (filling Battersea Power Station is no small task!) and amongs props for the party here are some other gems I found:

Stumbled accross these amazing plinths created (not glue or nails! Purely stacked!!) by some whizkid for the Anya Hindmarch’s show – J.E.A.L.O.U.S!

Also love the prop house trend to arrange their goods into surreal tableaux!

This last one is hands down my fave!

Event day was last Saturday and boy was it a looooong one (10am-5.30am!!) but hella exciting. I’ve never been inside Battersea Powerstation before and I did get more than a tad excitable once I got in (I also LOVE a hard hat and high vis).

Also the I’ve never seen a bigger marquee:

Will post pics of the actual finished product soon but for the time being here is a pic of Kelis performing live (got mega star struck when sat on the same sofa as her!)

….and a very chuffed Phoebe and Scarlet getting down to ‘Milkshake’

and finally follow this link for a glistening review by Grazia!

Wild Dan

Just finished work on a short film by MA students at Goldsmiths. The film is a comedy about the day dreamings of a bored office worker who dreams of being a cowboy. Set between Dan’s office and a Saloon Town the set design was made pretty easy for me as the location we used for the Saloon scenes were filmed in an amazing secret little gem of a place just outside of London, a reproduction Cowboy town complete with school house, jail, and apocathary! Each weekend a community of locals reside in the town and dress up in authentic cowboy (and gal!) garb and hold shootouts and other western related antics! All the saloon bar required was a bit of precise dressing and styling and boom- perfect cowboy hangout!

The office scenes however were a completely different kettle of fish! Changing a rather generic classroom at Goldsmiths into a realistic looking ‘messy’ office with donations of office equip and street findings (man I love a low low budget- always provides a challenge) in but 4 hours and 2 pairs of hands is quite the challenge! Here are the results:

Looking forward to seeing the final edit…!

Oh yes and a fairground carousel!!
